Who is Sweet Surprise Scuba?

Sam LeFlore is an accomplished cave explorer, technical diver, and cave diving instructor with a lifelong passion for the underground world. His journey began in 1993 when he started dry caving, developing a deep respect and fascination for the hidden landscapes beneath the surface. That early love of exploration would ultimately evolve into a career spent beneath the water.

Sam’s scuba diving adventure began in the spring of 2006, and later that same summer, the stunning freshwater springs of Florida opened a new chapter in his life. By February 2007, he had earned his full cave diver certification and was already working toward becoming an open water instructor. Over the following years, he spent every spare moment in the water, perfecting his skills and exploring some of the most beautiful and challenging underwater cave systems in the world.

In January 2010, Sam took his diving to the next level by transitioning to the Dive Rite Optima rebreather, expanding his depth, range, and time underwater. He is also certified on both the KISS Sidewinder and Divesoft Liberty Sidemount rebreathers, giving him unmatched versatility in complex diving environments.

Sam is an active member of the Karst Underwater Research exploration team, contributing to significant underwater exploration and mapping projects. His background in the electronics field adds a unique edge to his skill set—he’s known for being able to diagnose, maintain, and repair just about anything, making him a valuable asset both in and out of the water.

Today, Sam is a dedicated cave diving instructor, blending decades of dry and underwater exploration with advanced technical and rebreather diving expertise. His instruction focuses on precision, safety, and fostering a true sense of adventure. Whether he’s training new overhead divers or pushing the limits with fellow explorers, Sam brings passion, knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to excellence to every dive.
